Settling into school — Masal child psychology, Karşıyaka

Working with the child, the family and, when needed, the school for children starting nursery or primary school, changing schools or struggling in class.

Starting school, changing schools or getting used to a new teacher is a big change for a child. Some children struggle in the first weeks and settle quickly; for others morning tears, tummy aches or freezing at the school gate last for weeks.

Our work has three legs: with the child in the playroom, with you in parent meetings and, with your written consent, with the teacher or school counsellor.

Morning routines and goodbyes

A short goodbye ritual that is always the same, never slipping away unnoticed, a concrete promise about the afternoon… Small but regular steps are often what helps most.

How does it go?

  1. Parent meeting

School history, morning routine, notes from the teacher.

  2. Meeting the child

Telling the story of school through play.

  3. Talking to the school

With your consent, a call or meeting with the teacher.

  4. Small steps at home

Goodbye ritual, weekend preparation, after-school chat.
